About us

Christian Aid has a vision: a world free from poverty. To do that we are committed to exposing the scandal of poverty, helping in practical ways to root it out from the world, and to challenging and changing the systems that favour the rich and powerful over the poor and marginalised.

This role will be based in one of Christian Aid’s offices in Latin America and the Caribbean, but will have a global remit to work on issues and agendas impacting across the global south.

About the role

With a focus on the leave-no-one behind agenda, this post will lead a global team of experts at Christian Aid working towards reducing gender-based and identity-based discrimination and violence across the global south. The team aims to influence policy, resourcing and social norms at global, regional and domestic level to remove the underlying causes of inequality.

Christian Aid works alongside faith leaders to increase the implementation of national policies which eliminate gender-based and identity-based discrimination and violence. Our aim is to build movements calling for governments to have progressively increased domestic resources to combat gender and intersecting inequalities (race, ethnicity, region, sexual diversity).

The role will provide clarity of leadership on gender and inequality policy and advocacy at Christian Aid; ensuring strategic direction for policy and advocacy on these issues; and for managing the overall portfolio of projects to deliver successful outcomes for the reduction of poverty and inequality.

The Global Lead will be part of Christian Aid’s pool of policy expertise, acting as external spokesperson and feeding in to strategic decision-making processes for the Policy and Advocacy Department and for the wider organization. The role will line manage key staff working on delivering impact on gender and inequality in different parts of the global south.
