This role seeks to maximise InspirAction’s fundraising potential. The post is the first point of call for raising funds for InspirAction Spain, with individual supporters and with trusts, foundations and major and institutional donors. The role manages Spanish fundraising activities and works with IA management and Christian Aid to maximise opportunities to raise funds for work in Spain and with wider CA programmes in LAC and with InspirAction US.

The post holder will be expected to develop a new fundraising strategy for the organisation and work to maintain and develop fundraising contacts and opportunities for InspirAction in Spain, the EU and beyond and to build the individual giving portfolio through a range of on and off line methods that also manage individuals' support journeys.

The role has to maintain a detailed understanding of the supporter database, the data held and all processes related to maximising the relationship with committed givers. The role will lead on maximising income from individual and major donors and minimising attrition through proactive communication and contact with supporters.

Reporting to the Country Director – Spain this position will be expected to represent InspirAction to potential donors and supporters.

The role offers a unique opportunity to develop InspirAction’s fundraising and will be expected to meet fundraising targets from donors and individual supporters. The role sits within the IA team in Madrid but is closely linked to other parts of the Christian Aid Global Partnership, particularly the Programme Innovation and Funding, InspirAction US and the Latin America and Caribbean Divisions.

Significant experience of fundraising with a track record of gaining funds from institutional donors and trusts and foundations (including turning complex programmes into creative and inspiring proposals)
Significant experience of managing supporter relations
Experience of preparing and implementing a fundraising strategy
Substantial experience of responding appropriately to the requirements and demands of funders, with the ability to handle and respond positively to pressure
Understanding of GDPR
Excellent abilities to work with others as well as in an autonomous manner. The post holder must be able to assume responsibilities for his/her own work
Fluent in English and Spanish
Ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues located in other parts of the world

Desirable

Understanding of key development issues in LAC
Numeracy skills for budgeting and financial analysis
Experience of working in a small office environment
Second language – Portuguese or French
