Objective:
AeA is looking for an expert in Education in Emergency (EiE) to deepen its role and expertise in the sector, considering that education (in general) is one of the focus of AeA’s work in development, and a sector where the organization has a lot of experience.
As part of the Emergency Unit, the EiE expert will provide technical expertise and leadership at two different levels: at HQ, he/she will ensure the organization’s positioning in the sector; at Country Programs level he/she will support improving projects/activities and programs quality, providing training, formulation support, monitoring and evaluation of proposed interventions related to EiE (or with component of EiE). The EiE expert will ensure that learning and training programs will ensure high didactic standard in order to develop the capacities, skills and knowledge of participants in line with the standards and requirements of major humanitarian donors.
Responsibilities:
- To develop an internal EiE strategy by gathering information and experience raised in AeA;
- To develop an intervention model in EiE for the organization;
- To prepare/update capacity statement on AeA projects in EiE and to develop advocacy plans for the sector;
- To support, at technical level, the National Programs in the preparation/submission of project proposals (for different donors) and also in the different stages of actions’ monitoring;
- To develop necessary tools, guidelines and protocols, and harmonizes them across all education programs;
- To coordinate the revision of existing materials and/or the development of new ones on EiE;
- To Design, adjust or revise simple EiE monitoring and evaluation tools;
- To actively participate in forums and/or working groups on EiE and leads AeA’s participation in INEE network;
- To advise and accompany the AeA National Offices in EiE fora and/or working groups at National Level;
- To develop EiE training modules and programs that provide a general framework and relevant practical tools to support project implementation;
- Where appropriate/requested, to facilitate training and/or other support to local partners to enhance their efforts in understanding institutional donor requirements and reporting skills related to EiE;
- To support high quality reports;
- To realize other tasks according to needs and requirements of the Emergency Unit Coordinator and/or Sectorial Responsible.
Requisitos
Knowledge and experience:
- University degree or equivalent in education or related fields;
- Minimum Experience of 3 years workinig in EiE in humanitarian contexts;
- Previous experience in Project Proposal Writing for different international donors such as ECHO, BHA, AECID, or others institutional donors;
- Knowledge of INEE framework;
- Experience in conducting educational needs & risk assessments and response plans;
- Strong negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
- Ability to work for multifaceted programs and to prioritize multiple tasks;
- Experience in developing partnerships and working with local partners;
- Time management skills.

Geographical Mobility:
- Based in Madrid, hybrid format (60% – 40%) with flexibility to travel to AeA National Offices for short missions (max. 30 days).

- Knowledge of MEAL tools
- Knowledge of AeA operation countries and contexts would be an added value.

Offer Conditions:
- Incorporation: Immediate
- Duration of contract: Undefined with a 6-month probation period
- Workday: Hybrid format, 40 hours per week, with intensive work during the summer.
